АКАДЕМСКЕ СЛОБОДЕ И ЉУДСКО ДОСТОЈАНСТВО: НЕОБИЧАН СЛУЧАЈ ФОБИЧНОСТИ ЏОНА ФИНИСА

У овом чланку се – из перспективе случаја Џона Финиса из јануара 2019 – трага за одговорима на питања где су границе академске слободе и слободе говора. Стога се најпре унајкраће излаже случај Финис, а потом се разматра да ли је Финис прекорачио границе академске слободе и слободе говора својим „екстремно дискриминаторским ставовима против многих група људи који су у неповољном положају“, садржаним у његовим списима од 1992. до 2011, како то стоји у „Петицији да Џон Финис престане да предаје на Универзитету Оксфорд због свог дискриминисања“. Дакле, још једно од средишњих питања јесте да ли су Финисови ставови дискриминаторски и фобични, или нису. Основне тезе које се заступају у овом чланку јесу: Финис није прекорачио границе академске слободе и слободе говора, али јесте злоупотребио те слободе. Неки од његових ставова, као апстрактно изражена мишљења, јесу фобични, али нема доказа да се Финис конкретно дискриминаторски понашао према било коме.
